This blog is an experiment – in thinking, researching, analyzing, and writing about the issues and events that I consider important, either in themselves or because they represent core elements in our world.

In the beginning of 2013, I started a blog in which I attempted to combine my work in the visual arts with my writings on politics, popular culture, and related areas of inquiry. These two interests are ultimately directed toward different audiences. Therefore, I created two separate blogs. I continue to log my artworks at William Settles Artworks (http://williamsettlesartwork.wordpress.com/ ). 

This  blog will continue to be devoted to writings of a critical, analytical, polemical, and generally partisan nature. I invite you to join in the dialogue.
